In South Africa we have these for breakfast (also for a tea-time treat) dipped in our morning tea or coffee. It's similar to the Itallian idea of biscotti, but the main difference is that biscotti are a sweet, hard biscuit. The South African Rusk is more like a sweet bread, also double baked but with much less sugar and lighter, not as hard.
